The Old Faithful 8 Plex project was a sister project to the Mammoth 8 Plex Project.
Construction of a new 8 Plex housing facility at Old Faithful
maintenance area to accommodate Gvt. Personnel. This project included a new
foundation system with concrete C&G, sidewalks and ramps, constructing a
new 8 plex housing unit complete with mechanical rooms, laundry facilities and
storage areas, MSC was responsible for utilities within 20’ of building
perimeter, including site grading and prep.
The Old Faithful 8 plex started with mobilizing earthwork and logging equipment to scarify the top soil and remove foliage from the construction site, readying the site for installation of the foundation. The foundation system was installed, inspection tests were complete and then backfilled in lifts according to contract specifications. This work was accomplished within a 2 month period of time from August of 2008 thru October of 2008, at which time we demobilized from the work site for the winter and performed off site construction of the modular facility. Construction of the modular units started in January of 2009, in Pocatello, Idaho and continued thru July of 2009. The units were delivered to a staging area outside the park and trucked in at night to accommodate park visitors and regulations. The units were staged in the maintenance area and all 10 units were set on the foundation system the following day. MSC constructed the roof, decks, fascia, rails, rear steps, radon system, under floor water, sewer and heat systems over the next few months and completed this project on time and budget.
